ViX, TelevisaUnivision’s streaming platform, regularly launches original series, films, and reality shows for Spanish-speaking audiences.

Since 2023, I’ve been responsible for editing promotional content for ViX titles, distributed across Univision’s social platforms. Over time, my role expanded to include short-form content designed for the ViX app itself.

These videos blend editorial insight, high-quality visuals, and a digital-first approach, aiming to drive viewership and discovery across multiple platforms.

Process | Short-Form Social Campaigns

— Edited promotional videos for original ViX titles, including El extraño retorno de Diana Salazar, Ellas soy yo: Gloria Trevi, Chiquis sin filtro, Juegos interrumpidos, Par de ideotas, among others.

— Participated in special campaigns such as ViX Day, producing promotional content with top Univision talent from shows like Despierta América, Desiguales, and El Gordo y la Flaca.

— Collaborated with Univision’s on-site social media producer for talent interviews; also conducted remote interviews when needed.

— Edited content in multiple formats: long-form (+1:30) and short-form (<1 min) for YouTube Shorts and the ViX app.

— Integrated voiceovers using my own voice when appropriate, tailoring the tone to match the style and audience of each piece.

— Ensured a polished and professional image for all talent by applying video enhancement techniques, including AI tools when necessary.

Talent reveals lesser-known personal facts, offering fans a more intimate and surprising look into their everyday lives, hobbies, and quirks.

Behind-the-scenes stories where actors share how they connected with their characters, including fun anecdotes and unexpected challenges during filming.

¿Qué prefieres?

Trend-inspired “this or that” questions based on popular TikTok formats, prompting playful and relatable choices that reflect the guest’s personality.

Las Rapiditas

Lightning-round questions tied to the show or film, designed to be answered instantly and reveal fun insights or preferences related to the storyline.

Pencil Nose

Actors attempt to draw symbols or icons related to their show using only their nose, resulting in playful, lighthearted moments full of laughter.

Las Netas

Intimate Q&A format where talent reflects on personal experiences and the emotional journeys tied to their roles, projects, or career paths.

Pencil Nose

Guests are challenged to describe the essence of their show in just 15 seconds, prompting creative, witty, or chaotic summaries.

Regresando el Tiempo

A throwback-driven format where talent reacts to childhood photos, early career moments, or milestones, sharing emotional reflections.

Short, direct video invitations where talent encourages fans to stream their series or movie on ViX, often recorded on set or in-character to boost excitement.

Process | In-App Shorts for ViX

— Selected and edited video clips for the shorts section of the ViX app, focusing on short-form storytelling tailored for mobile viewing.

— Collaborated with the ViX editorial team to curate scenes with viral potential, comedic punch, or emotional resonance.

— Edited standout moments from shows like Vecinos, María de Todos los Ángeles, Riquísimos, por cierto, and Volver a caer.

— Prioritized comedic beats and dramatic tension to boost viewer retention and drive in-app engagement.

— Provided creative direction and visual feedback to refine the new user experience within the shorts interface.

— Older social-first content I had previously edited was repurposed for this new section, selected based on its proven performance metrics.

Outcome

Some of the videos I edited surpassed 5M views, especially those featuring my voiceover narration, which helped increase engagement.

My contributions helped define the look and rhythm of ViX’s social video presence, and I received positive feedback from stakeholders for maintaining visual quality and audience connection. Internally, my concepts were adopted and adapted across campaigns.

For the ViX app, my input helped guide the development and editorial approach of the new shorts section, contributing to both content volume and viewer discovery.
